Filmfare Awards For Best Movie

The Filmfare Awards are often referred to as the Hindi film industry equivalent of the Academy Awards in the United States. Until the mid-1990s, the Filmfare Awards were the most prominent and recognized awards in Bollywood until several other awards emerged in Mumbai. This has resulted in a low audience since the 2000s.

The Filmfare ceremony is one of the oldest film events in India. The awards were first presented in 1954, the same year as the National Film Awards.
